About Omega Institute for Holistic Studies
Omega is a premiere travel and tourism destination and leading nonprofit organization in New York’s Hudson Valley region. It is an internationally recognized leader in health and wellness and lifelong learning—offering workshops, professional training, rest and rejuvenation retreats, and online learning.
Founded in 1977, Omega offers diverse and innovative educational experiences that inspire an integrated approach to personal and social change. Located on more than 250 acres, Omega welcomes more than 23,000 people annually to its workshops, conferences, and retreats in Rhinebeck, New York, and at other exceptional locations around the world. Approximately 2 million people also visit Omega’s website each year.
The Rhinebeck campus is open April–October; reservations are required, with a two-night minimum. Accommodations on campus include single and shared rooms, dorms, tent cabins, and campsites. The accommodations and meals package includes 3 buffet meals per day in Omega’s Dining Hall, which is certified by the Green Restaurant Association with a 3-star rating.
Guests staying on campus have full access to facilities and amenities, including: the award-winning Omega Center for Sustainable Living (OSCL); the Omega Café; the Omega Store; the Ram Das Library; the Omega Women’s Leadership Center (OWLC) by appointment; the Sanctuary; the Omega Wellness Center by appointment; sauna; tennis courts; basketball courts; woodland trails; gardens; and Long Pond Lake, which offers swimming, kayaking, and canoeing in summer months.
Options for day visitors: Omega allows a limited number of day visitors based on campus occupancy. Anyone who is not officially a registered guest staying on campus is required to call ahead (845.266.4444). Day visitors can pre-book appointments at the Wellness Center, which offers massage, facials, nutritional health consultations, and more; take a free tour of the Omega Center for Sustainable Living (OCSL), the first “Living Building” in America and a state-of-the-art water reclamation facility; purchase a meal ticket for the Dining Hall; and shop in the Omega Store and Omega Café. All pre-approved day visitors must check-in at Guest Services on arrival.
